As the Founder and CEO of MJD Productions, the Washington DC International Film Festival (WMIFF), and the Hollywood in Washington, DC talk show, Daguiso has built a career defined by storytelling, innovation, and cultural connection.

The Beginning of a Creative Journey

Daguiso’s journey in the entertainment industry began in 2006, when he founded MJD Productions. With a strong passion for storytelling, he quickly made his mark through his debut film Full Circle, which gained international recognition and earned Grammy nominations for Best Song of the Year and Best Compilation Album for TV and Visual Media, in collaboration with Frank Cisco Anderson.

This early success was followed by another milestone in 2009, when his film Collide received a Grammy nomination, further establishing his presence in the global film and music landscape.


A Career Beyond the Screen

While his achievements in film are notable, Daguiso’s journey reflects a life of discipline and diverse accomplishments. Before entering the entertainment industry, he built a 38-year career in the legal field, retiring in 2017.

In parallel, he pursued martial arts with dedication, competing under the North American Karate Association, where he earned recognition in both fighting and form. He later shared his expertise as a Tae Kwon Do instructor in the Washington, DC–Maryland–Virginia area, demonstrating his commitment to mentorship and personal growth.

Over the years, Daguiso has produced more than 50 films, showcasing his versatility as a writer, producer, director, and actor. His projects often explore complex human experiences, reflecting his deep understanding of storytelling as both an art and a means of connection.

Among his recent works, Saving Ana has drawn attention for its emotional depth and narrative strength, earning recognition in major award circles. His film Lion of Judah Legacy, which he shot, directed, and edited, also gained international recognition with a nomination during the first round of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

Continuing his momentum, Daguiso is currently developing multiple projects, including feature films, a television series, and the reality program Filipina Housewives of DMV, which highlights Filipino stories within the diaspora.

Beyond film, Daguiso has established himself as a prolific author, with a growing body of literary work that reflects his storytelling depth. His published books include Saving Ana: The Road to Absolution, Collide, Diary of a Serial Killer, Split Personality, Forever Young, and Dream Chaser: The Story of the Martinez Family, among others.
Through both film and literature, he continues to explore themes of identity, redemption, and human resilience, reaching readers and audiences across different parts of the world.
