Lance Raymundo: Living with Purpose, Guided by Heart

Lance Raymundo was born in Metro Manila into a family where creativity and hard work were part of daily life. His mother, Nina Zaldua, a former beauty queen and actress, and his older brother, Rannie Raymundo, an OPM singer, shaped his early exposure to entertainment. His father, Nilo Raymundo, guided him in business. From a young age, Lance learned that finding your own way was more important than following someone else’s path.

“I realized early on that success wasn’t just recognition—it was about understanding yourself and making your own choices.”

Although he studied BS Biology at UP Manila, Lance felt drawn to entertainment and business. Today, he works as a host, actor, and runs RZR Trade & Logistics Inc., a company he built from lessons learned under his father. He has hosted international events and worked on several films, balancing these roles with the responsibility of his business.

Learning From Experience

Lance began his career as a Levi’s model and later signed with VIVA Records as a recording artist. Acting followed, first in Singapore with Incredible Tales, then in the Philippines with ABS-CBN’s PIETA and his first lead role in Fidel.

“I learned more from doing than from anything else—every project, every job taught me something new about myself.”

Alongside entertainment, he gained practical business experience under his father from 2000 and eventually started his own company in 2014.

Family as a Compass

In entertainment, Lance drew inspiration from his mother and brother. In business, his father’s guidance shaped his decisions and values. Their influence gave him the confidence to take responsibility and make choices on his own.

“Family was always my guide. Their lessons stay with me in every decision I make.”

Facing Challenges

Being the younger sibling of a well-known artist came with expectations. Lance used this pressure to discover his own voice rather than be overshadowed. In business, the most difficult moment came after his father passed away in 2018. Taking over the company required him to learn independence, responsibility, and self-reliance.

“Losing my father meant I had to figure things out on my own. It was hard, but it showed me what I was capable of.”

Choosing What Feels Right

Lance emphasizes honesty with yourself. He initially studied biology because he wanted to try something different from his family, but he realized his heart was in entertainment and business.

“Once I accepted what I truly wanted, I could focus on building a life that felt meaningful to me.”

Work That Reflects Effort

Milestones for Lance are simple markers of progress: opening his own company, acting in films, and hosting internationally. What matters most is the work itself—putting in the effort and seeing it through.

“I don’t measure success by recognition or awards. I measure it by effort, growth, and responsibility.”

Motivation and Responsibility

Family continues to inspire him. With his mother facing Parkinson’s disease and his father no longer present, caring for her drives him to keep going.

“Caring for my family gives purpose to every day. That’s what keeps me grounded.”

Habits That Keep Him Steady

Discipline, organization, and health are essential. Time management allows him to balance hosting, acting, and business. His international experiences have also taught him patience, adaptability, and perspective.

“Staying healthy and organized isn’t just about work—it’s about being able to do the things that matter consistently.”

Staying True

Lance believes in keeping values at the center of life. Kindness, fairness, and integrity guide both his work and personal life.

“Never forget your values, even when things seem to go well. That’s what really matters.”

He encourages young people to be patient:

“Success doesn’t happen overnight. There will be setbacks. You only fail if you stop. Keep moving forward, and opportunities will come.”

Reflections

For Lance, life is less about recognition and more about understanding your own path. It’s about making thoughtful choices, staying grounded, and building a life that reflects your values.

“I hope my journey shows that it’s possible to live a life that balances work, family, and values, and maybe inspire others along the way.”
