SB19 Makes History as First Filipino Act to Perform at Lollapalooza

In a landmark moment for Filipino music, Pinoy pop powerhouses SB19 have officially been confirmed as the first homegrown Filipino act ever to perform at one of the world’s most prestigious music festivals — Lollapalooza in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

In an announcement shared across their official social media platforms, the group thrilled fans with the message: “Surprise, A’TIN! We’re so thrilled to announce that we’ll be performing on the Lollapalooza stage! Can’t wait to see you, Chicago!” — referencing their devoted fanbase, A’TIN.

🎶 Historic Milestone for P‑Pop and OPM

SB19 — composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin — will take to the iconic Grant Park stages as part of this year’s Lollapalooza lineup, joining global superstars such as Charli XCX, Tate McRae, Lorde, Olivia Dean, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie.

This marks a major breakthrough for P‑Pop (Pinoy pop) and Original Pilipino Music (OPM) on the international stage, placing Filipino artistry among the world’s leading music acts and expanding the global footprint of Philippine entertainment.

🎙️ A Year of Global Success

SB19’s involvement in Lollapalooza comes after a strong streak of international achievements, including:

  • The release of their dance-pop single “VISA”, highlighting the challenges Filipino artists face in securing global opportunities.

  • A performance at Japan’s D.U.N.K. Showcase, collaborating with J‑pop stars BE:FIRST.

  • Plans for a special concert “Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale” at the SMDC Festival Grounds, celebrating new music and milestones in their career.

🌍 Celebration Across the P‑Pop Community

Fellow P‑Pop artists, including girl group BINI, congratulated SB19’s historic feat, dubbing it “a win for OPM” as the Philippines continues to make waves in global music festivals.

This achievement adds to SB19’s growing list of international milestones — from selling out massive venues during world tours to charting on digital song charts — solidifying their reputation as one of Asia’s most impactful pop groups.
