The UP Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority announces the official book launch and signing of Archaeology and the Law: Legal Awareness and Advocacy in Philippine Archaeology, authored by lawyer-archaeologist Atty. Kathleen Felise Constance “Kate” D. Tantuico, MA, LLM. The event is a major academic and advocacy milestone in Philippine cultural heritage law, archaeology, and heritage protection policy.Atty. Kathleen Tantuico is a lawyer-archaeologist and socio-legal scholar specializing in cultural heritage law, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, and international cultural property law. She is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Law and the UP School of Archaeology, and earned her Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law with Distinction from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom. She has worked with international institutions including UNESCO and the U.S. Department of State as a consultant on cultural heritage protection and legal policy development.
Her book, Archaeology and the Law: Legal Awareness and Advocacy in Philippine Archaeology, strengthens academic and policy discourse on Philippine archaeology law, cultural property protection, Indigenous heritage rights, and legal advocacy in cultural resource management. It serves as an essential reference for law students, archaeologists, anthropologists, policymakers, heritage professionals, researchers, and cultural institutions.
The official book launch and signing will take place on May 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Blue Room, Atencio-Libunao Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman, located across the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice along F. Agoncillo Street. Copies of the book will be available on-site for purchase and signing.
