“He (O’Hara) was scary.”
“It was my first time acting in front of the camera. Hindi ko alam na pag umiyak ka ay talagang dapat totoong tears. I faked it. Lumabas siya at galit na galit siya. Dahil doon ay napaiyak na ako. Sabi niya sa akin, ‘O, kaya mo naman palang umiyak.’ From that day forward, I promised myself that I would never again give a director a reason to reprimand me.”
Although the experience was intimidating, it became one of the most important lessons of her career. From that moment on, Janice developed the professionalism, discipline, and work ethic that would eventually define her decades in show business.

It was not their first collaboration. Janice had previously worked with Roño in Bakit Kay Tagal ng Sandali (1990) and Kailan Ka Magiging Akin, the film that earned her the Best Actress Award at the 1991 Manila Film Festival.
“When I first worked with him (Chito), I was afraid. Ang dami niyang rehearsals. He wanted to know your limits as to how far you could go. It’s actually for your own good. Now, I am no longer shocked working with him. It’s part anyway of the job.”

Working with Vilma Santos in The Healing
Among the many memorable collaborations in her career, Janice considers working with Vilma Santos one of the most rewarding experiences.
Although The Healing was their first suspense film together, it was not their first time sharing the screen. Janice had already worked with the Star for All Seasons years earlier in a television drama special when she was only 15 years old.
“Ate Vi is the coolest. She’s super nice, down-to-earth, thoughtful and generous. Hindi niya pinaparamdam sa iyo na siya si Vilma Santos. Para kayong magbarkada. We often stayed in her dressing room. She also texted me. Kukumustahin ka niya.”
Janice also recalled a lighthearted moment that reflected Vilma Santos’ warmth and humility.
“I brought adobo to the set one time, and Ate Vi told me to bring some adobo to her.”
